Day 12 - Rome
Buongiorno from Italy!
Collosseum, Forum & Pantheon
Today's adventures began with relief bus driver Gianni driving our band of still merry travelers to the Eternal City of Rome.
Bus driver regulations in Europe for days off and rest required Big John and his luxury coach making their way to Rome without passengers. Laws can be funny that way.
Our 2022 tour hotel was 3 blocks from the Colosseum. This trip our hotel was close to the Vatican Museums. Matti arranged for some mini busses to take us to the Colosseum where we met our local guides for a tour of the Forum and the Pantheon. Having been to both before really helped it all make more sense.
Dinner in Piazza Navonna & Passeggiata (Evening Stroll)
Then it was off to another fabulous group dinner at the lovely Ristorante Tre Scalini in Piazza Navona. Everything was exceptionally delicious. We finished the evening with city walk back to our hotel.
While Rome had become comfortable and familiar for us, tomorrow would present the most "exhilarating" moment of the trip! (Foreshadowing, the sign of true literature...)
