When We Go Again

  • We leave for the Athens & the Heart of Greece in 14 Days Tour on 4/1/2025 and are already packed and managed to reduce the weight of our carry-on suitcases from 35 to 25 pounds each!

  • In addition to Dawn and Gordy, new friends, Virgil and Deanna, that we met on the 21-day tour will be joining us! â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

CPAPs

We both sleep with CPAPs.  Frankly, lugging 2 extra bags around for them was quite a nuisance. But, breathing is important, so it was never an option to leave them at home. When some of our tour members said they had travel CPAPs that fit in the palm of their hands, we had to know more about this sorcery. It did require additional prescriptions from our doctors, but as soon as we got home, we ordered one.  After trying it out, we ordered another. It is like magic - they take up less than half the space and don't require hunting for distilled/demineralized water!  Both of them, plus all our extension cords and adaptors fit in one bag now. We ordered ours from cpap.com.  They are listed for just over $1000 but regularly go on sale for around $800.  We try to travel at least 2 or 3 times per year, so hopefully the reduced aggravation will be totally worth it!  https://www.cpap.com/products/resmed-airmini-autoset-travel-cpap-machine

Souvenirs

  • Jen needs work on taking more landscape oriented pics in the future. She took thousands of photos, the vast majority of which were portrait oriented, which made it challenging to fill these collage frames. Now that they are done, she calls this her dopamine wall and just stands in front of them when she needs a hit of happy!

  • We picked up assorted small mementos along the way: canvas tote bags, magnets, pins, bottle toppers, the stein from St. Goar, a shot glass from Rothenburg, a tin of cookies from a truck stop in France and the wine glasses from our tasting in Beaune that magically survived intact. â€‹â€‹

  • We are still quite happy with our tiny treasures, even though they run counter to our efforts to simplify and minimize the household inventory in our senior years.
