Day 14 - Orvieto & Cinque Terre

Orvieto
Today's adventures found us back with Big John and his luxury bus! We made an extended pit stop in Orvieto, which is a city situated on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. We had to take a funicular up to it. It was all free time. Mike and Jen elected to go inside the church and found a sandwich shop for lunch. Dawn and Gordy browsed the adorable town and its little shops.

Then it was back to the bus and off to the Cinque Terre! We did an orientation walk and then had a group dinner with a choice of fish boil or pork. An after-dark stroll along the beach and back to our hotel was a relaxing way to kick off our vacation from our vacation.
ADDED BONUS: There was a shop called La Lavanderia di Clofi Lucia right behind the Punto Market about a block away from the hotel that does laundry! We dropped off a bag of clothes and like magic they appeared clean, folded, and wrapped in paper back at our hotel the next morning. The lady was very friendly and the price was really reasonable, (we don't remember exactly what it was). Five stars - highly recommend!
