Today's adventures were all on our own.  We decided we to take the ferry boat down the coast and the train back.  We bought our one-way tickets, hopped on the ferry, and headed for the upper deck for the best views.  We are not sure if we miscounted the stops or were hypnotized by the scenery, but whoops, we missed getting off at our stop of Riomaggiore. No worries, we continued on to Portovenere, where we purchased a 1-stop ticket and headed back to our intended destination.​

Once we made it to Riomaggiore we were more than ready for lunch.  So out came the Rick Steves guidebook pages and we chose a restaurant from the recommendations.  La Grotta did not disappoint, both the food and atmosphere were fantastic.
