Day 19 - Paris & the Louvre

Bonjour from France!

Arriving in Paris

Today's adventures took us to our final city of the tour, Paris. We took some time at our last bus break to say our fond farewells to Big John.

On the way to our hotel, we passed the Musee de l’Armee des Invalides. After checking in and dropping our bags, we walked a block to Rue Cler for lunch. There were quite a few restaurants to choose from. We settled on some sandwiches from the Boulangerie.

The Louvre

We met up with the group back at the hotel where Matti gave our metro orientation and passes.  We walked to the metro station and took the it to Louvre.  Dawn, Gordy, and Jen braved the crowd to see the Mona Lisa, Mike was content with his selfie in the hallway. Jen had listened to the Rick Steves' audio tour on the bus earlier today so we had our list and were ready to blaze a trail to the highlights!

After we left the Louvre, we stopped at a food cart and got some chocolate chip croissants. They probably would have been much better in the morning when they were fresh.

Seine River Boat Cruise

Then we took the metro to the Eiffel Tower area and caught a river cruise with Vadettes de Paris.  It was a pleasant way to see the city and get off our feet for a bit.

Bonne nuit from France!
